Financial Literacy for K-12 Students
Children Storybooks: The Storybook Project started as a simple book donation program in 2005 that grew over the years. It eventually included free storytelling workshops, book parties, and the development of original InLife storybooks. In 2010, a storytelling caravan was established, themed as “100 Years of Insular, 100 Beloved Filipino Children’s Stories.” The caravan went to various schools around the country. Through InLife storybooks, financial responsibility is seeded among children as early as possible. The storybooks involve real life situations that children experience every day. Book titles such as “Luckiest Girl in the World,” “Christmas in February,” “Binesboy Minggoy,” and “Wishing Well,” provide simple financial literacy for children.
Estudyantipid Video Episodes: In partnership with Knowledge Channel, financial literacy episodes were produced for public school teachers nationwide in 2016 and 2018. Specifically, these episodes are used for teaching Araling Panlipunan in Grade 9, in their macroeconomic subject. The videos talk about the importance of savings, investment, insurance, and wise consumption. These subjects are approached with real-life situation of two main characters for easier and more appealing understanding.
