Insular Foundation donates emergency sleeping quarters to Ospital ng Muntinlupa

Insular Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Insular Life (InLife), recently turned over an Emergency Sleeping Quarters to the medical frontliners of Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun).

As part of its COVID-19 response initiatives, the Foundation provided P1.02 million for the construction of the sleeping quarters for OsMun health workers.

InLife Vice President and Insular Foundation Executive Director Ana Maria Soriano said the project demonstrates how like-minded organizations relived the Bayanihan spirit to provide the needed assistance to our modern-day heroes or bayani during this pandemic.

“Insular Life and Insular Foundation are very happy and honored that we were able to provide sleeping quarters for the staff of Ospital ng Muntinlupa. We know the great sacrifices of our health workers during these two years of the pandemic. The emergency sleeping quarters is one of the solutions to the problems of our health workers in daily commuting and the risk of infecting their family members,” Soriano said.

She added since 2020, the Insular Foundation has been providing assistance to neighboring OsMun through the donation of food supplies, personal protective equipment, vitamins and face masks.

The Emergency Sleeping Quarters, built inside Ospital ng Muntinlupa compound, will serve as their hospital staff dormitory or living accommodation. The 108 sq meters facility is made up of  fiber cements board enclosure, with concrete flooring and corrugated steel roofing. It has 14 rooms complete with bed frames, beddings, and electric fans, aircondition, 2 toilet rooms and 2 shower rooms.

During the turnover event, the Nurses Christian Fellowship Philippines also launched its Basket ng Pagkalinga Project which includes psycho-spiritual support for OsMun healthcare workers, while the Philippine Relief and Development Services, Inc. donated airconditioning units. The other partner organizations include the Rotary Club of Makati, Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, and Christ’s Commission Fellowship.
