Insular Foundation celebrates fifth batch of elementary graduates

InLife employees meet their adopted scholars from Itaas Elementary School Main, Muntinlupa City.

More than 100 Grade 6 student graduates from Itaas Elementary School Main in Muntinlupa are all set to move up to junior secondary level this school year. Insular Foundation recently celebrated the elementary school graduation of its 121 scholars in a meet and greet event with the InLife employees.  InLife employees provided the scholars’ school materials, uniforms, shoes and bags from Grade 1 to Grade 6.

Insular Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Insular Life (InLife), also awarded cash gifts to the top three scholars, namely, Red Angela Mallari, Gillianne Faye Valdez, and Lou Dhustine Castillo.

Mallari expressed appreciation to InLife and Insular Foundation for helping them with their school needs. “We would like to thank you for all the help that you have provided us from Grade 1 until Grade 6. The school supplies, uniforms and cash incentives provided were a big help. The journey was not easy as we encountered a pandemic which we were never ready for but as always, you were there to help in any way you can,” she said.

This latest batch of scholar graduates brings to 511 the total number of public elementary school students supported by the Foundation’s Adopt-A-Scholar Program.

InLife employees sponsored a total of 401 students during the School Year 2022-2023. This school year, the program helps a total of 121 students in Itaas Elementary School Main, Alabang Elementary School Main, and Bayanan Elementary School Main in Muntinlupa; and Balili Elementary School Main in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Since 2003, the Adopt-A-Scholar Program enables InLife employees to adopt Grade 1 students from the Foundation’s partner schools. Through the yearly employees’ donation, the Foundation provides school uniform and shoes, bags and school supplies, and other school requirements until Grade 6.
