Insular Foundation Welcomes a New Batch of Scholars

The Insular Foundation welcomed a new batch of college scholars for School Year 2017-2018 under the Gold Eagle College Scholarship and Company Scholarship for Employee Dependents.  They were welcomed by Executive Chairman, Nina D. Aguas and President and CEO, Mona Lisa B. Dela Cruz.

 

The SY 2017-2018 freshmen scholars for the Gold Eagle College Scholarship Education Program at the University of the Philippines-Diliman are: Wylie Thomas G. Pe, BS Mathematics; Mary Joy M. Abanes, BS Education; Mary Joyce T. Chang, BS Education; and Kenchi B. Navarro, BS Education.

 

The SY 2018-2019 freshmen scholars for Company Scholarship for Employee Dependent (CSED) Program are: Kaira Therese M. Nano, Pag-ibig D. De Villa, Ysobel B. Herman, Andrea Amor A. Vertulfo, Lilac Claire R. Villagarcia, and Liz Danielle C. Castro.

 

Insular Foundation currently supports 73 college scholars, 31 of whom are Education and Mathematics majors at the UP Diliman and 26 from State Universities and Colleges under the Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant, while 16 are children of Insular Life employees under the CSED Program. Every year, the Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant offers 10 slots for a Bachelor of Science Secondary or Elementary Education course and two slots for a Bachelor of Science Mathematics course. It also offers three slots each to the five partner State Universities and Colleges.

 

For School Year 2018-2019, the Insular Foundation will open four college scholarship grants for Bachelor of Science Statistics course in the University of the Philippines - Diliman.

 

After graduation, the Education scholars are required to work as teachers in any school in the Philippines for at least two years and the Mathematics scholars and College Scholarship for Employee Dependents scholars are to prioritize applying in Insular Life. The scholarship benefits include tuition and miscellaneous fees, monthly stipend, book allowance, and transportation (only to Gold Eagle scholars) provided they meet the scholarship requirements. Insular Foundation aspires to be a committed partner in building self-reliance for the communities it serves and demonstrates its steadfast support to education and nation-building.
