Insular Life Employee Volunteers Run for the PRC
Insular Life, through Insular Foundation, gave its full support to the Philippine Red Cross’ (PRC) Million Volunteer Run 4 (MVR4) held last October 21, 2017 at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, Manila. Various institutions and individuals gathered together for the “Biggest Humanitarian Run” as a way to help the many projects of PRC.
As this was not a competitive race, no finisher medals were awarded. Nonetheless, medals were given to the first 250 finishers per category – 3K and 5K.
All seventeen employee volunteers who joined took part in the 5K race category. The volunteers zig-zagged their way around the many people and pushed through the rain.
One employee volunteer in particular, Nice Lagunoy of BPMS, triumphed by clinching a medal with a time of 26 minutes and 27 seconds. The others had personal records and feats of their own.
Despite the early morning run, the employees conquered the track and left with a fulfilled heart. It was not just the employee volunteers who gave to PRC however, since the organization provided a Bronze PRC Premier membership which entitles its holder access to PRC events, trainings, and services.
All in all, PRC’s goal to further expand their network of volunteers was a success. With the funds they raised, the organization will be able to sustain its various programs and services.
